Youth Brass Band Camps

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH BRASS BAND CAMP
July 11-15, 2022
W.K. Kellogg Auditorium

Rehearse and perform side-by-side in the historic W.K. Kellogg Auditorium with BBBC resident conductor Michael Garasi and world-class artists from the Brass Band of Battle Creek!

Activities and Information:

  • Monday through Friday, July 11-15
  • Daily rehearsals, sectionals, master classes, and Q&A with BBBC musicians.
  • Open to brass and percussion players in grades 8-12 (graduating 2022 seniors are welcome to participate!)
  • Delicious catered meal provided each day.
  • Masks, social distancing, and other protocols will be followed according to health department/school district recommendations.
  • Free end-of-camp public performance on Friday, July 15 at 6:30pm. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend.

Cost and financial aid:

  • $50 per student for all five days, including meals, instruction, and camp t-shirt
  • Scholarships/financial aid available to all Calhoun County students.

MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH BRASS BAND CAMP
July 18-20, 2022
Marshall High School

A 3-day experience designed to introduce middle school brass and percussion students to the joy of playing in a brass band, led by players and staff from the world- renowned Brass Band of Battle Creek.

Activities and Information:

  • July 18-20 (Monday through Wednesday) at Marshall High School
  • Fun music! Sectionals, rehearsals, skill sessions, and side-by-side performance with BBBC musicians.
  • Delicious catered meal and snacks provided each day.
  • 9am to 4pm Monday and Tuesday, Noon-7pm Wednesday
  • Supportive, low-pressure environment designed for students with 1 to 3 years of playing experience.
  • Daily bus transportation provided from Battle Creek and Albion (as needed)
  • Masks, social distancing, and other protocols will be followed according to health department/school district recommendations.
  • Free end-of-camp public performance on Wednesday, July 20 at 6:30pm. Parents and family members are encouraged to attend.

  • $30 per student for all three days, including meals, instruction, and camp t-shirt
  • Scholarships/financial aid available to all Calhoun County students.
